Oh, thanks. That worked. I assumed the general sync would work as well.
Remove read-only to Birthdays calendar
-
Hi! I’m using DAVx⁵ synced with a cloud.disroot.org account.
There was option to auto-generate a calendar with the birth days on contacts, but this calendar, comprehensibly, is read-only.Is there any way to remove that tag to be able to add events, such as anniversaries, to that calendar without needing to create a contact?

It looks like your cloud is running Nextcloud. This birthday calendar is automatically been created and update from your address book. There is no option to switch this calendar from read-only to read-write mode, because all your changes would most likely been overwritten. by the server,

Okay, understood. I supposed that. Will I be able to create a calendar with automatically one-year-recurrent events? Or will I need to add the notification manually?
-
@Porrumentzio DAVx5 has no influence on what kind of recurring event you’re creating. This depends on the frontend application which need to support the desired function. Simple recurring events should usually be created by all kind of programs, including the Nextcloud app.

@j-ed Yes thanks, I understood better now that about the infrastructure and the GUI/front-end app.
My question, which I think does less to see with DAVx⁵, is if it’s possible to adjust default parameters for each calendar. So, have a calendar in which all created events will be repeated every year and notificated a week before.

@Porrumentzio I’m not aware about any software which allows to modify all events of a calendar at the same time. You can only open recurring events one-by-one and change their settings as desired.

Okay, thanks @j-ed!
