Synchronization fails for Yahoo Calendar (solved) - check the Contacts in CardDav

  • I had an issue with my DavX5 application in my Huawei (Android).

For the last week or so, I continuously received an error message, informing me that the synchronization process failed.

This error message was looking like this

*I sent a support request this morning (Sunday), and already received an answer ! on Sunday …
    Hello,

The error comes from the CardDAV service of Yahoo. It seems you’ve selected also your Yahoo address book, too. Yahoo contacts can’t be synced, because their CardDAV backend is not standards compliant. Can you try to uncheck the address book in your DAVx5 account and press “synchronize” again?

    Best regards,

Indeed, for unknown reasons, my CARDAV contact was ticked on :

Be sure that the CARDDAV Contacts are NOT selected !!!
And simply removing this CARDAV synchronization solved the whole issue: my Yahoo Calendars syncs now.

  • Thanks for mentioning it here also so that others can look up the solution 🙂

    Amazing!
I received again the synchronization error. Solved again by de-selecting - again! - Carddav.
And it is for exactly the same issue as before:

I know that I did not touch the phone as it was linked by usb on my desktop (hence always fully charged), and I was away 3 days without it (and with no one accessing my place): it was simply store there, alone in the dark…

There is something that triggers Carddav, but what ? … a mystery
(edit : all updates are manual, never auto. However, I recall having authorized several manual updates: an Android system update about “WebView”, “Booking”, “Visorando”, “Meteo France” and “Firefox”)
