Thanks for the information. I’ll close this issue now because the problem seems to be resolved.
Back button on account creation
With version 2.4, the “BACK” button was removed from the account creation view. When tapping on the upper left “<-” icon, I’m not taken back to the previous view where I could enter my account details and credentials, but instead it takes me back to the account list view.
Is this intended behaviour? At least for me, it was kinda unexpected.
According to the Material guidelines (9 May 2019, they’re constantly changing), the left arrow in the action bar means “upward navigation”, while the fragments of account creation are navigated using sequential forward navigation through a flow.
So in my opinion, current behavior matches the (current) guidelines:
- upward navigation to the account list: by the arrow in the action bar,
- for backward navigation in the flow use the back button (or gesture or however it’s implemented on your device).
If you find hints/evidence that the arrow in the action bar should behave like the back button in this case, please let us know.
Ok, got it. I mainly wanted to know if the behaviour is intentional or not, which given your explanations, it clearly is.
