It’s possible since Android 6. Previous Android versions don’t support that.
ISP proxy denies CONNECT request
-
Hello,
After I noticed that my accounts were not synchronized I reinstalled Davdroid but I cannot add my account. In the link you can find the logs. Note that even if the response from the server is 403 I am sure that the username and password were correct. I checked them more times and I have no problems with other softwares. Note also that my password contains symbols and I would not that some of them are not well handled by Davdroid. I am thinking about the at sign, the colon or the backslash.
PS. The service I am using is posteo.de and I also noticed that the configuration instructions differ from those given by the posteo people. The CalDAV/CardDAV URL should be https://posteo.de:8443/
Thanks,

Did you try 8843?

Yes, the error is the same. Thanks for looking on this.

@marco HTTP
CONNECT
is only used when there’s a proxy involved. This proxy seems to deny access to posteo.de. Did you configure a proxy in DAVdroid or system settings? -
@rfc2822 No I didn’t. I don’t even know how to set the proxy system wide. I also checked the settings in DAVdroid and the proxy is off.
-
@marco Maybe the proxy is enforced by your mobile provider. Did you try on WiFi connection?
-
@rfc2822 I was already trying that when you replied, and it worked. I also tried the two urls: https://posteo.de:8443/ and https://posteo.de:8843/. They both work with CalDAV, but only the second works with CardDAV.
How can I resolve with the mobile data? I mostly use it instead of wifi.
Thank you again.

It’s not a DAVdroid problem. You can see the proxy in Android settings / Mobile data / Access points (APNs) / your access point / Proxy. If this proxy doesn’t work properly, please contact your provider or just delete the proxy setting (and restart DAVdroid / the system afterwards), if you’re allowed to do so (may be restricted).
Same problem as here, for instance: https://forums.bitfire.at/topic/422/certpathvalidatorexception-but-my-domain-is-a-on-ssllabs
