Thanks for the help.
Saved the vCard, found there 2 records of groups.
It’s not clear how they signed up, but after their removal, the synchronization went with the groups.
Android Contacts add account freezes when selecting DAVdroid
-
I have Copperhead OS build 3-30-2017, Android 7.1.1 on a Nexus 5x. DAVdroid is version 1.5-ose and I’m communicating with my Owncloud server version 9.1.4.2.
I have set up my Owncloud account in DAVdroid, using the base URL “https://server/remote.php/dav/” and it finds both the calendar and the correct address book, with no errors.
DAVdroid works fine with calendaring and the Etar calendar app.
However, when I go into the Contacts app, and choose to add a new account, when I pick ‘Manage Accounts’, it opens the Android Accounts section. When I then choose ‘Add account’ and pick the “DAVdroid Address book” item, the Add account app freezes and never returns. I have to quit it, and of course no account was added to Contacts.

I can’t see anything wrong in the log, but … ? Any suggestions? Thanks!

You don’t need to add an address book. Just select the address books in the DAVdroid account.
-
I assumed I needed to add the account in Contacts, since otherwise Contacts remains empty even though I have 151 contacts that show in Owncloud…
-
@arfbarky You just have to select the address books you want to synchronize in the DAVdroid account like in the first part of the screenshots:
Then the “DAVdroid Address book” accounts will be created automatically as soon as the main DAVdroid account is synchronized.
-
Yes, my screen looks like the left screen – the single CardDAV item “Personal” is checked.
The middle screen showed, on mine lists “DAVdroid”, but not “DAVdroid Address book”. If I pick ‘Add account’, and choose “DAVdroid Address book”, that’s where it freezes.

Did you force-sync the DAVdroid account?
If I pick ‘Add account’, and choose “DAVdroid Address book”, that’s where it freezes.
Please don’t do that. It’s not necessary. It shouldn’t freeze, but do nothing instead. This will be fixed in he next version.
-
Yes, I pushed the circular Synchronize Now button at the top of DAVdroid, it seems to complete without complaint.
-
@arfbarky Did you upgrade from an earlier version? If yes – did you try to add the account again? Or to uninstall and re-install DAVdroid?
-
Brand new install from fdroid store on brand new copperhead os install. I tried deleting and readding the account a couple times. I also created new address books in owncloud and DAVdroid finds them.
-
@arfbarky Then I don’t know whats wrong.
-
I have the same behavior: Android 7.1.1 LineageOS 14.1-20170329-NIGTHLY-i9100
Upgraded from CM13 to LineageOS 14.1 with factory reset. Installed DAVDroid 1.5-ose from fdroid.

@rfc2822 Yes, did it. Still no success.

@rfc2822 When I add a new addressbook, executed sync in DAVDroid and then opened the Android contacts view, the following logs were written:

@rfc2822 Works! Thank you!
