@schiri thank you for digging into this and reporting the outcome here. very appreciated! Glad that there is no issue on our side 😄 Recurring tasks and sub-tasks are supported in acalendar+ tasks and can be synced via DAVx5.
Phantom Calendar Entries on Android 7.1.1
-
(this worked on Android 7.1)
On Android 7.1.1 DAVDroid 1.3.4-1-ose , sync creates a bunch of phantom entries below Calendar
Settings - Accounts - DavDroid - [Calendar entry]
I have 3 right now, but I have seen over a dozen
The entries have no title and only display “Sync is OFF”
It does not happen for contacts, only for calendar
-
What we have found out so far: These entries appear because DAVdroid is able to sync tasks. If OpenTasks is installed, task sync is shown at this location. Until Android 7.1(.1?), nothing was displayed if OpenTasks is not installed, but it seems as if Android 7.1(.1?) has introduced some “phantom sync entries” when OpenTasks is not installed.

Thanks for the report.
This strange Android behavior has been workarounded with davdroid/c8ddec96.
Please note that this is only an Android display bug and doesn’t have any impact on functionality. If you want to get rid of those entries, just install OpenTasks (even if you don’t want to use it).
