As neither the warnings for the missing permissions nor the verbose logging did function, I reinstalled the app and now everything works fine 🙂
Maybe something went wrong during the first installation. Thanks a lot for your support!
Hello,
just to share solution:
to enable sync while screen is off on android 5.1, you may need to set Custom
battery usage policy for davDroid.
on MIUI it’s located in Additional settings/Battery & Performance/Manage apps battery usage/Choose apps
find davDroid in list, select Custom
and Stay connected
.
without this - davDroid will fail to connect to server and unable to sync if screen is off.
(tested with 1.0-beta1 version)
Thanks for this information. I have never heard neither of this problem nor of these settings. Is this MIUI-specific?
i have no other android5 device to check,
in google i found https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2819524?hl=en and View or restrict background data usage by app
.

Yes, but this option should be off by default.
