@j-ed - YES, you are correct. My phone was on my public (no password) wifi that has no access to the LAN that is password protected. It was designed to keep visitors out of my stuff.
And it worked - it kept me out of my stuff.
Thanks for seeing what should have been obvious to me!

@quasiorthogonal said in Syncing of large contact phots from Radicale to Android fails:

      java.net.ProtocolException: unexpected end of stream
      at okhttp3.internal.http1.Http1Codec$FixedLengthSource.read(Http1Codec.java:409)

This means that the server interrupts the connection while the transfer. I guess it’s a problem either of Radicale of your intermediate Web server (if you have used one). Did you have a look at the Radicale / Web server logs (maybe you have to increase verbosity)?

I want to know if this project could be ‘officialy’ supported by Radicale, as it looks to me a good alternative to other Android software. Thanks for your job on Radicale.

@rfc2822 I’m using a Moto G(4) Stock ROM but with lots of root & Xposed tweaks. I’m privacy-oriented so I have a lot of things in place to prevent Google from seeing my every move. I figured it was probably not DAVDroid’s fault, I was just hoping someone knew of a reason this could happen.

      There’s some server problem:

I don’t know what the problem is, but I’m quite sure it’s not a DAVdroid problem.

I could neither reproduce with Android 4.4 (Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1) nor with Android 6.0 (CM 13.0-20161228), using Radicale and your VCard (tried with CRLF and only LF line breaks).

      So I guess that’s something firmware specific…

      Hi,

yes did see it, but no useful/helpful information there.
Since in Blackberry I use the full blown http://ip:5232/user/caldav.ics/ or /addressboock.vcf/ maybe its the .well-known stuff that is messing things up?
Same path I use in thunderbird with lightning and sogo.

I have always no kalendar / addressbook found when I enter complete path (like in the blackberry) without well-known configured or http://ip:5232 with
      caldav = '/%(user)/caldav.ics/.

Sadly davdroid does not create a calendar / addressbook so I could guess what is wrong.
Should it create one if http://ip:5232/user/ is empty?

Can you tell me how you did it?
Do you use 0.9.1.3 with 1.1.1?

It’s a nice to have, either way I’m posting it.

DAVdroid synchronization is working fine, when I add a DAVdroid account by manually enter the URL and the user name (second option). I’d really like to profit from the automatic service discovery (only enter e-mail and password and let’s go!), but unfortunately this is not working.

I set up a radicale server behind and apache wsgi “proxy” and I set up correctly the SRV and TXT record for automatic discovery. the caldav and carddav url in my case is for now https://radicalewebserver/cal/. accessing the caldav server with curl works as expected. current-user-principal is https://radicalewebserver/cal/user/.

      curl -i ${URL}${USER}/ -X PROPFIND -u "$USER:$PW" -H 'Depth: 0' -d '<propfind xmlns="DAV:"><prop><CD:addressbook-home-set xmlns:CD="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:carddav"/><C:calendar-home-set xmlns:C="urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:caldav"/></prop></propfind>'

      answer of curl request: http://pastebin.com/sANfWH30

It seems to me that the automatic service discovery by only entering the email and password doesn’t do a preemptive authentication, but in my scenario the user needs to authenticate for successfully accessing https://radicalewebserver/cal/, what i need to get a valid current-user-principal.

      davdroid debug log: http://pastebin.com/p5idfK65

https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6764#page-5 says To facilitate “context paths” that might differ from user to user, the server MAY require authentication when a client tries to access the “.well-known” URI (i.e., the server would return a 401 status response to the unauthenticated request from the client, then return the redirect response only after a successful authentication by the client).

So isn’t that something which should be implemented? Or am I doing something wrong?

      Hello,

Thanks for your report. As you can see from the logs, Radicale returns a 500 Server Error. This is a problem of your server (assuming that the request is valid, and I don’t see anything invalid). Please report this to Radicale.

I use Radicale with DAVdroid 0.9.0.4 myself, and it works here.
