at.bitfire.dav4jvm.exception.DavException: Expected 207 Multi-Status, got 200 OK
Synology released its new “Synology Contacts” application today.
Since it gives now the possibility to connect to specific addressbooks via QR code it would be nice to implement such a CardDAV client feature into DAVx5.
Thank you for considering about this feature.
Hi everyone, first of all congrats on the fantastic app!
I think it would be a nice improvement if users could tell DavX to avoid syncing during certain time periods, e.g. overnight.
Currently, I’d prefer to have my syncing every hour, but the problem is this causes all of my server’s disks to wake up once per hour for the sync. During the day this isn’t too bad since the disks would often otherwise be awake, but overnight this causes lots of unnecessary disk wakes. It would be great if we could tell the app “only sync between 08:00 and 22:00”, for example, to avoid those unnecessary syncs.
My current workaround is set the syncs to happen every 4 hours, which helps with this issue a bit (only 1 unnecessary sync overnight generally). However, using this setting also makes my calendar pretty useless during the day unless I manually update all the time.
I’m almost sure my issue has little to do with DAVx⁵ but I would still like to ask my question in the hope to get directions where to go/ what to research.
I am using the horde server via CPanel. All works reasonably well but I can’t create a new calendar from the app. I get a pop-up with the following message:
java.io.IOEsception unexpected end of stream on https//[url].nl:2080/...
Now this is probably a restriction from my host. I couldn’t find the issue here or anywhere else so I think I’m on my own. But it might be horde. I don’t think ints DAVx⁵ because the same issue pops up if I use another sync app.
Any clue if I can fix this myself? Where do I look?
(fyi: host sais (litterally): “we do not support caldav. Be happy it works mostly!” - they are cheap, I don’t complain - and somehow I don’t expect a lot from horde support hence I’m posting here. Hi!)
Some services don’t automatically pull contact photos from other services (gmail, yahoo, gravatar, etc). I’d like to suggest a feature where DavX could check if there’s a contact photo associated with an email address (from one of these other services), and pull it in.
Options could be given to “never overwrite existing pictures, or Overwrite existing pictures”
use freshly designed AppIntro fragments instead of the previous start-up fragments:
intro fragment with logo/slogan
battery optimizations fragment allows whitelisting from battery saving (“regular sync intervals”) and strongly notifies about vendor restrictions
tasks support fragment allows installation of OpenTasks (and detects when it’s installed, even if installation is finished in the background) and notifies about other tasks apps
About dialog: show translations, updated library view
use latest version of okhttp (4.5 instead of 3.12); dropping support for API level <21 (Android 5)
support for Brotli HTTP compression (if supported by server)
Nextcloud Login Flow: show progress bar and error messages if something goes wrong
many small bug fixes, improvements, optimizations
